McKellips House, Antioch CA – Project 365

Built in 1882 as the home of Stephen McKellips, locomotive engineer in charge of the rolling stock for the Empire Railroad. There is not much information available about the house, other then the outside is in in excellent condition.

Stephen McKellips fired up the “Empire” September 22, 1877, a 15-ton Baldwin Engine, the first engine to turn a wheel in Antioch.
