Week 3 was all about using my Minolta AF 50mm F/1.7 lens, which translates to a focal length of 75mm on my Sony SLT α77 with a APS-C sensor. This FL is not ideal for traditional landscape photography, however larger FL can offer a nice change of pace for contemporary landscape photography providing a narrow field of view.
Shooting the same sceneries, it became clear that this lens acts more like a short telephoto lens. What I learned is that faraway objects are larger and can move to the foreground, however, the depth perception found with the 35mm and 50mm lenses is gone, the background is also pulled in and it is harder to determine what the real distances.
Week 4 will be even more of a challenge as I will be using a 90mm FF lens that equates to a 135mm focal lens. It will be an interesting week.
