2017-05-02 Recovery Day 57

Today is day two of session three for cycle two, which signals the end of cycle two. Next week is a off week, also called a rest week, getting ready for cycle three to start Monday, 15 April.

As to the night, it was another good night! which seems to become the norm. As to the pain when getting up, the leg pain and later the T4 one, we changed yesterday the dosage to changed that. The result, I still get the leg pain the moment I get up, however today the level was lower and I was able to walk it of within about 10 minutes.

As to the T4 pain, an hour after getting up, the pain will have risen to level of 7-8, if not more, requiring me to take the breakthrough medication. The medication will be good for about 1 1/2 hrs, leaving me with 30 minutes before taking more breakthrough meds. We changed the dose yesterday from 8 mg to 12 mg and a 2 1/2 to 3 Hr period in between.

Knowing that the T4 pain will come sooner or later, I took the 1st dose at 5:15 to cover the active period from 5:30 to 8:15. It takes about 15 minutes for the pills to work. At 7:45 the pain level started to raise above 5, and to level 6 at 8:00 at which time I took the next dose. The same pattern repeated around 11:00 and 2:00. The change in dosage and time, resulted in a active pain coverage of about 2 hrs and 45 minutes, which is better then the 1 1/2 HR with the smaller dosage and 2 hr time period.

As to the chemo session, I can only repeat myself, it is by now routine. My addition blood work results were positive, showing an improvement of the Immunoglobulin data.

Getting back home, we are following a routine as well , which is, resting a bit until it is time for dinner. After dinner I go upstairs to get ready for the next day before retiring to bed. I watch some more TV until about 9:00 at which time I ready to go to sleep.

Overall today was a good day, the change in dosage and timing in the breakthrough meds was a positive improvement. That is it for today, looking forward to a good night sleep.
