As to the night, a good night, nothing different to report. As to the pain when getting up, the leg pain was right there in the upper part and lasted for about 30 minutes. The T4 pain showed up about 45 minutes after getting up. Last but not least, the right breast pain surfaced 1 hour after getting up. The breakthrough meds did little to lower the pain. The T4 pain went quickly out of control and since the next time slot for more breakthrough is still an hour away, all I could do is rest in a horizontal position in the recliner.
In addition to controlling the pain levels, there is the preparation for Dr. Rakesh Donthineni at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley to stabilize the T4 fractured area on Friday. Preliminary reviews of the various scans and X-rays show that there are three fractures. I am so glad that Dianne is doing all this behind the scene work for me.
The afternoon turned busy, with me being told, on a short notice, that they need a few more X-rays. We always talk about the T4 area, however they are now also talking about the L1, L3 and L5 vertebras.
Tomorrow will be a tough day. The surgery is scheduled for 4:00 PM. Check In time is 2:00 PM. I am not allowed to eat and drink anything starting tomorrow morning. It will be a bit difficult to take my meds tomorrow.
That’s it for today. I will try to report tomorrow, but don’t be surprised if there is nothing.
