2017-07-30 Recovery Day 146

Today is not only Sunday, but also my last day of chemo. What is left is the last pill of Revlimid. Starting tomorrow, no more chemo, be it BMO or via infusion. Now my system needs to get rid of all the chemo stuff over the next four weeks. The reason being that in four weeks I start the stem cells collection. By having cleaned out most chemo stuff there will be more good stem cells for collection.

2017-07-29 Recovery Day 145

Another weekend is here, like the last one, being Saturday, Dianne and I got up early to go to the local café for breakfast. Afterwards, we went to our local Super Store to get some necessary items for the weekend and week to come. Arriving back home, I went across the street to talk with our neighbors, Cory and Gary. I am going into this much detail to set the stage that with all this activity, the only pain I encountered was my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain. A sign that things are starting to get better. After an hour talking with Gary, I return home to rest in the backyard since my shoulder pain just got to high.

2017-07-28 Recovery Day 144

2017-07-28 Recovery Day 144

No two days are every the same. Today things turned out different again. Getting up I felt no upper leg/buttocks and foot pain, even my shoulder-back-shoulder pain is was barely notable. My first activity was to help with preparing Breakfast. This is becoming a regular routine again. After Dianne and Denise left for work, I went upstairs to my office to continue trying to sort things out. For most of the morning I was busy with trying to figure out how to arrange my office, now that I have retired from my standards work. Ray was able to get through to me for our daily FaceTime session.

2017-07-27 Recovery Day 143

Today things turned out very different. For starters, getting up was no different then the last few days. However, getting downstairs things changed, I was not able to fix breakfast due to sudden pain and dizziness showing up. As far as I can make it out, this pain is from the root canal and Physical Therapy. I also started to have a light fever. It was time to go back upstairs and rest. By mid-morning the fever was gone and the pain slowly disappeared. I stayed upstairs until lunch, at which time I went back downstairs.

2017-07-26 Recovery Day 142

Today turned out very good, even with the many activities. Maybe we are reaching a turning point. Getting up I felt no upper leg/buttocks and foot pain, even my shoulder-back-shoulder pain is was barely notable. My first activity was to help with preparing Breakfast. This is becoming a regular routine. I enjoyed some FaceTime with Don and Ray afterwards, just before going to the Dentist for a root canal. They found a crack in the tooth which requires a post to be put in. This will be done next week together with the preparation for the crown.

Today turned out better than yesterday. Getting up I felt no upper leg/buttocks and foot pain. As to my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain is was barely notable. I helped with preparing Breakfast which resulted in my upper leg/buttocks and foot pain to show up. I rested in my recliner to reduce the pain, which did not work. After an hour I took my regiment of morning pills. Shortly after taking them I started to have some stomach cramps.

2017-07-23 Recovery Day 139

Getting up this morning I felt a bit of the upper leg/buttocks and foot pain. As to my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain is was barely notable. Since it is Sunday, we, Dianne, Denise and I decided to go to the local café for breakfast. My pain had increased just a touch, so being brave, I agreed that after breakfast we could go to the local department store. Getting back home, I stayed outside in my garden Lounge Chair watch Dianne to do some garden work. To keep my leg pain in control, I got up from my lounge chair every hour to walk around a bit. Around lunch time I got as it started to get hot and it was time to go inside.

2017-07-22 Recovery Day 138

Today turn out no different than the last few days, nothing but pain. The main pain locations are both of my upper buttocks and the shoulder-back-shoulder pain. I tried everything to lower the pain, resting for awhile, trying to walking it off, nothing help. Even sitting outside did not help today. It is frustrating that as my chemo treatment is coming to an end, my pain is increasing and can not be controlled.
