2017-08-21 Recovery Day 168

Today was a rough day, not sure how it happen, all I know my system was out of wack. It all started after waking up. Before that I had a good night sleep getting up every 3 hours to relieve myself of the chemo fluids in my system. Things changed when it was time to wake up. I just fell asleep agin. I was able to have a short FaceTime call with Ray before I had the energy to get out of bed.

2017-08-20 Recovery Day 167

Today started off like yesterday without any problems. The night was good as I was able to fulfill the medical requirement to get up every 3 hours in order to flush my system from the chemo and other medication fluids.

We had again the free breakfast at the motel, it still was not much, but enough for us. We had already pack most of our stuff last night, all there was left to do was to pack the last few things and take them down to the car and start our drive back home.

2017-08-19 Recovery Day 166

Today started off without any problems. We had the free breakfast at the motel, it was not much, but enough for us. Since our appointment was not until 10:00 we had enough time to get ready. Since the most time we would spend here I was able to reduce our things to pack-up and take. I am so glad that the laptop I purchased not long ago was the 14 inch MacBook, the size, weight and functionally is just perfect. Not to much nor to not enough. By the time we were ready to go, the taxi was here to take us to UCSF MD at Parnassus.

Today is the day for the start of the Stem Cell Transplant. Step 1 is the the Cytoxan chemo infusion. However, because it is very toxic I receive before and after other fluids for protection. In summary, zxtoday was very good day, better than I had expected. Have we reached the turning point? We will find out by the end of this week, since this week every day will have a appointment for something.

2017-08-17 Recovery Day 164

Today started of like the last few days, the only pain I had was the shoulder-back-shoulder pain which came in various pain levels. I also had no the morning sickness (dizziness and quizziness). The morning was used to pack up Dianne’s and my computers with all the accessories, such as chargers, mice, extension cords, etc. I also packed our cloths for the next 3 days. I know it sound like nothing, but it not only took me all morning, but it also took all my energy since I did not rest between the various activities.

2017-08-13 Recovery Day 160

Today was the day, the best day of my recovery. Hardly any signs of morning sickness (dizziness and quizziness), just some shoulder-back-shoulder pain when I do to much. The day started of with a good breakfast and a 20 minute walk afterwards along the front of our house. After that I spend a few hours resting in the backyard. The rest of the morning I spend in my office sorting to a pile of paper work. Looking at the pile, it does not look like I made any progress in my task, but I know I did. Not to over do it, I quit at lunch time.

2017-08-12 Recovery Day 159

Today was good day! The morning started of with almost no dizziness and little bit of stomach quizziness. Both were not enough to stop me to go out for breakfast with Dianne and Denise. After breakfast I had to go to my Eye Examine appointment. Since my vision change a bit and I felt good, no upper leg/buttocks pain, we decided to go and get our new eye glasses ordered. I said we, because Dianne and Denise also had their eyes checked a few weeks before me. I too had an appointment when thy had theirs, but had to cancel mine because of pain related problems that day.
