2017-09-30 Recovery Day 208

Today’s posting will be very short since it was a busy day. The good news I am back home, proof that the transplant was successful, at least by the numbers. The final result will not be known for three months when a bone marrow test is due.

Today started with daily blood draw confirming that the goal has been reached. Before going home, there were a number instructions about what I am allowed or not for the next phase, the 100 day “recovery”. This phase is about rebuilding my immune system. More about that as I start to move forward with this new phase.

I will stop here as I don’t have the energy. Yes, it was a great day during which I did a few things that wore me out.

Such good news Klaus. What a fight you have won so far. The medics are amazing to guide you in every step.

Paul, thanks for your kind comments. I don’t look at it as being a fight, but a number of journeys, when one ends the next starts. Starting today is the 100 day recovery journey, which has within a 30 day “stay home” period.
