Weather-wise it was a bit cooler then yesterday, it will cool down even more over the next 3 days. Today’s temperature does not matter to me as I am at the cancer center for my all-day treatment. Health-wise every things were back to normal. After breakfast I started to pack my things up that I needed at the center, such as my laptop with power adapter, iPhone with charger, Bose wireless headset, etc. Dean picked me up around 8:40 and dropped me of at the center.
My treatment started at 9:00 with my blood being drawn for the Complete Blood Count (CBC) table, and since the last draw for the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) was over 28 days ago, that one was drawn as well. The results for the CBC table were available after a few minutes, whereas the CMP takes a few days. Next my vitals were checked, which were OK.
Every thing was clear to start having some fun the next 8 hours, starting with getting my pre-meds infused. After that there was a 60 minute waiting period before I got the main course – the infusion is done in steps starting with 100ml/h for an hour, 150ml/h for the next hour, and the rest at 200ml/h. After that my port was flashed so that I could go home.
By the time I get home there was not much time left before dinner. After dinner we watched some TV before calling it a day. That is it for today, in summary, today was a good day.
