2018-09-12 Recovery Day 555

Today was another excellent day, again, no dizziness, stomach queasiness or bone pain all day long. The back pain was also gone today, all that was there was the discomfort of the shoulder, which feels like a low-level pain for a lack of a better word. It was the second day in a row that I no pain. Today was my monthly all-day treatment day.

Because my platelet count was very low I was asked to stop taking Pomalyst (chemo pill) I take for 21 days, 7 days off. I had 7 days more to go. I will restart taking them after the 7 days off for 21 days. The next 7 days will tell if the platelet count has recuperated and what side effects showed up.

Activity-wise the day started there was not much since the treatment is all day. Dean picked me up at 8:30 for my 9:00 treatment to start at the local cancer center. Sometimes I can take my daily pictures in the morning, but since it stays dark longer as we move towards Fall, there was not much to choose from. I had hoped to take some bird pictures at the center, but no birds showed up at the fountain. Finally, I was able to take a few PICTURES of birds in our backyard around 5:30, a time slot they seem to like since for about 15 minutes each day they show up.

After my treatment was over Dianne took me home. After a short rest dinner was being prepared. We started to watch some more episodes of DCI Banks and regular TV until calling it a day.
