2018-10-19 Recovery Day 592

Good news, another great day! However, I overdid it a bit, more about that later. Health-wise, things were good today, no dizziness or stomach issues all day. Again, like yesterday, a little bit of bone pain in my ankles and hips, but not as bad as a few days ago.

Activity-wise, since I had volunteered to help out at the Big Break Regional Shoreline’s Visiting Center (VC) from 10:00 to 12:30 today, Dean drove us to the VC around 8:45 allowing us to have our morning walk there. We walked along the Levee Top Trail and Big Break Trail, taking some good PICTURES.

Returning to the visiting center I started my shift welcoming visitor and helping them with answering their questions. I had a good time talking and helping a number of visitors. Around 11:30 Rachel asked me if I wanted to join the team that was about to leave to service the Beaver Dam along the Levee Top Trail. Every two weeks the team changes the batteries and SD memory card on the video recorder and cuts back some of the brush. I was able to take the second set of PICTURES for today. On my way back to the visiting center I came across a gopher snake, which is part of my second photo set.

By the time I got back to the VC and had my stuff packed up, Dean had arrived and we went to Costco for some grocery shopping. Returning back home, having unpacked and put away the groceries, I started to feel pressure all over my back and shoulder. This pressure is the result of having done a bit too much, most likely my second walk to the Beaver Dam. The good news, resting for most of the rest of the day helped my back and shoulder return back to normal.

That is it for today. In short – It was a GREAT day. The day ended with us watching some TV to relax before calling it a day.
