For starters, I have changed the title of my postings as well as the Blog Title from Road to Recovery to Living with Cancer. The reason being is that the cancer I have, Multiple Myeloma (MM), has no cure. All that can be done is to treat the cancer and hope to achieve remission.
There’re two types, partial remission, it may mean one can take a break from treatment as long as the cancer doesn’t begin to grow again. Complete remission means that tests, physical exams, and scans show that all signs of your cancer are gone. Some doctors also refer to complete remission as “no evidence of disease (NED).” For now I am in some kind of partial remission, my treatment cycle is four weeks. In addition to my chemo treatment every 4 weeks I also take chemo pills every day for 21 days, 7 days off.
As to my health status for today, it was yet another so-so day, but somewhat better than before. I slept until 8:00 before going downstairs for breakfast. Besides being a bit lightheaded I also had some stomach issues. Afterward breakfast I rested watching the Rose Bowl Parade. I spend a short time in our backyard, helping Dianne with creating a cover for our water fountain.
For lunch, I had some soup and crackers which helped with my stomach getting better. As to my activities, there is not much to report since I rested for most of the day. Around 3:00 PM I went for a walk with Dean. I used that opportunity to a few PICTURES of Mount Diablo for a single location. It is part of my project to get back into Photography, starting with simple basic steps and topics. For starters, I picked Mount Diablo as seen from the Black Diamond Middle School. If you are interested to find out more about the project, read my posting under My Blogs => Photography menu.
Dinner time came around quickly, and after dinner, I spend the rest of the evening watching some TV and at the same time, processing and uploading today’s photos to Flickr and writing this posting for uploading to my website, Klaus’ Korner.
In summary, today was a better so-so day. Since the resting for most of the day helped improved my shoulder and back pain, hopefully, the trend will continue.
