Today was another good day, the night was again a bit better than yesterday, I still sweat during the night at a very, very low level. Because of the time change for taking the Voriconazole Antibiotics from 7am/7pm to 9am/9am my morning routine changed. Breakfast must be before 8:00 am, however, dinner now can be over as late as 8:00 pm. However, this change goes very well with our starting time for the morning walk, which starts around 9:00 am. As to my oxygen use, I had to use during the morning walk and after lunch because of the preparation and the visit of my ex-colleagues from Premenos. For the rest of the day, there was no need to use oxygen, except during the demonstration of the portable unit which arrived in the afternoon.
There is not much more to report, I spend the morning going for my morning walk with Dean. Interesting enough the walking speed increased a bit and there were fewer stops to get the O2 level back up. Getting home I get ready for lunch with my Ex-Premenos colleagues. It took me about 20 minutes, just in time when the first person arrived. We had a good lunch and conversation not going into politics. Larry joined us via FaceTime from home after having stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks. After Bill and Greg left I rested with oxygen for about 15 minutes to get my levels and energy back up.
It was just in time as the respiratory therapist arrived with the Portable Oxygen Concentrator to check if it was working for me since it only provides oxygen when breathing in. I passed that test. There was the second test for confirming the oxygen flow rate, currently at 2 liters per hour, which I also passed. The unit can provide at this rate oxygen for up to 4 1/2 hours. At the end of her visit, I received the Oxyarm Adjustable Head Band With Diffuser Arm replacing the discomfort of the standard cannula.
That’s it for today, all around, even with the number of visitors and associated physical activities that affected my energy and oxygen intake, it was a good day. Next up will be the weekend, which in the past had a few bad days. Being positive, we will be going to the movies to see John Wick 3.
