2019-10-22 Living with Cancer Day 958

Today as another Good day, mostly spent at the cancer center receiving my first infusion of the new treatment plan. As to the start of the day, it started with a temperature of 100.2F. It stayed that high for most of the morning, by around 11:00 it started out drop, by the time my treatment started it was around 98.3F. As to my morning walk, because of Dean having to take his sister again to the doctor after 9:00, there was no way for Dean to be back before 10:15, we therefore canceled today’s our walk. BTW, Dean will in Texas starting tomorrow, not returning until next week’s Wednesday.

I did spend most of the time from 8:30 to 11:00 walking around the house to collect things for my minimized computer bag which I take with me when having treatment. I was able to cut things down by at least 2/3, replacing the laptop with a tablet, which required less space, especially for power adapters and cables.

There is not much to write about the new treatment which uses the Kyprolis/Cytoxan drugs. As I mention before, I will have to go 2 days in row for 3 weeks for infusion, followed off one week. Today was day 1 of week1 1, I started the treatment at 11:30 and was done by 4:00 PM (16:00). I encountered so far no issues.

Before going home we went to Sutter Delta MC for some to take some blood for type and cross, needed for ordering blood for the Thursday’s blood transfusions. By the time we got home it was time to prepare dinner. After dinner, we ended the day watching TV for the rest of the evening until it was time to call it a day.
