2020-01-26 Living with Cancer Day 1054

Early Shower – 07:05:14 PST, 54°F Mostly Cloudy, Antioch, CA
Got up at 7:00 to have a good and hot early shower before going back to bed around 7:30. It does take me some extra time for my shower as I play it safe. Dianne is on standby, just in case I need help.

As I got ready to go back to bed, Dianne had breakfast prepared for both of us to enjoy, especially since it was raining. I enjoyed my homemade buttermilk pancakes with a few scrambled eggs, blueberries and mandarin on the side. All topped off with a cup of hot chocolate.

Resting some more – 08:00:49 PST, 54°F Mostly Cloudy, Antioch, CA
After breakfast, I continued to rest in bed. My pain locations were still as bad as yesterday, which takes into account the energy used during the shower, which is actually good.

After about a later hour I decided it was time to pack up my overnight stuff, get dressed and go downstairs. It took a bit longer going downstairs since I forgot to look after a few things.

Downstairs – 09:15:10 PST, 55°F Mostly Cloudy, Antioch, CA
After getting back downstairs, I took my antibiotics before cleaning out my resting location of stuff I no longer need or can put away.

In preparation for tomorrow’s start of my PO (by month) cancer treatment, I must drink, at least 56 fl oz of fluid 2 days before, I did so yesterday and are continuing with it today. To keep it simple I use 2 bottles of 34 fl oz, bringing the total to 68 fl oz.

I did not realize how much time it takes to get simple things done, like moving something from one location to another because of my pain limiting my speed. Because of it, I do overestimate how much I will get done, which does not help with scheduling events.

Cleaning up – 12:13:42 PST, 61°F Partly Cloudy, Antioch, CA
Just before lunch, I started to do my final check on how I am going to arrange my cameras so that I can use them without having to put a strain on my body and at the same time have easy access to them.

Here is the list of what I use:

Camera bag: Peak Design Everyday 6L Sling

• Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ80 4K Digital Camera, 18.1 MP, 60X Zoom
• Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS70 4K Digital Camera, 20.3 MP, 30x Zoom

Camera Accessories:
• Peak Design Cuff Camera Wrist Strap
• Peak Design Leash Camera Strap, 83-115 cm,

Shortly before lunch, Dianne mentions that there are some different and nice clouds in front of our house which I should use for my pictures today. She was correct, I used the various cloud formation for today’s photos.

Lunch and More – 15:47:29 PST, 59°F Clear, Antioch, CA
Around noon, Dianne prepared lunch for us. I had Apple slices and Brie cheese and ham on a Ciabatta bun heated up on a Panini maker. After I was done I joined Denise and Dianne in going through my paperwork I collected for years but never kept sorted and organized.

Way back I had good intention to collect all important paperwork for each year in a big bin and at the end of each year. The problem with the intention was/is that I never did the sorting/organizing.

Thanks to Dianne and Denise’s help, we are almost done with going through all the bins, keeping only what is needed. The bad news, it took the rest of the day, to do the sorting. We will finish off the organizational part next weekend.

The day ended as all of our days, having dinner between 5:00 and 6:30 (17:00 – 18:30) followed by watching some TV until it is time to call it a day.

As to my pain level trough out the day, it was very high, at a severe level of at least 7. Hopefully, after starting my treatment tomorrow the level will be reduced quickly.
