2019-11-16 Living with Cancer Day 983

Today was another so-so day, the plan was to get up a bit earlier for Saturday since Dieter, Renee and Carsten had arrived late last night for a short visit. However, I was hit by dizziness and some stomach issues, I, therefore, slept in. Getting downstairs around 9:30 I had a light breakfast before taking my medication. Dianne hooked me up for my hydration so that it was done by lunchtime. I rested during the hydration which helped with my dizziness going down.

Today was a so-so day, at 9:00 the Sutter Home Care Nurse came by to do her physical checkup, which takes about 30 minutes. I passed with flying colors. The last thing she does is putting back a new needle into my port for having access. Dianne uses it for my daily hydration, and on treatment day it is used for the IV fluids, and it is also used for blood and platelet transfusions. Without a port, access is a simple needle poke in either the right or left arm with a good artery. With the number of blood draws alone a port is a must.

Today was a so-so day, which besides being a very busy morning, was also a very cold one, we never got above 45F until about 10:00. I got up at 8:00 to get ready for the 9:00 visit with the Home Care Nurse. She comes by once the week to check things out and puts the access needle back into the power port, so that Dianne can now hydrate me again.

Today was not a Good day, yes it was a bad day, but not terrible as the issue was my stomach, which did wanted to settle today. It started early this morning with stomach cramps that would not go away. I had taken Zofan earlier, as every day. But today it did not suppress my stomach cramps. I stayed in bed, dozing off a number of times. By 9:00 clock Dianne gave me some toasted sourdough bread slices, they did settle my stomach a little bit. I got dressed and went downstairs taking my medication and Dianne hooking me up for my daily hydration. Next I retired to my recliner.

Today was another Good day. The plan for today was to go to IKEA. I got up around 7:30, did my morning chores before going downstairs. Dianne had breakfast ready, which was great allowing me to rest a bit before leaving for IKEA. Today was more than going to IKEA, it was to see if it will be another good day and how my system will deal with being on my feet instead resting for most of the time in my recliner. Like yesterday, I did not take the walker, instead I took my walking sticks. We left at 9:00 for IKEA, a 40 miles (ca. 64 km) trip.

Today was almost another Good Day. After getting downstairs from my morning chores, my sweat issue was back, this time it was a lot of sweat. My stomach was good at the start being downstairs, so I had full but light breakfast. I took my temperate which was 99.7F, up from 98.1F taken 2 hours before. The sweat, light fever and serve body temperature were enough to not walk this morning.

Today was a Good Day. My day starts always the same, get up around 7:30, do my morning chores before going downstairs. Once downstairs, I check my vitals, have breakfast, and get ready for my morning walk.

Depending on my health issues, such as neck/shoulder pains, severe stomach cramps or high fever, only to mention a few, I may not walk, either way I will rest until I feel better and are able to do what I may had planed for the morning and afternoon.

Today was Not a Good Day. I got up round 7:45, with a hell of a headache, I took some Tylenol which did lower the pain but still left some pressure on top of my head. The headache was not the only issue, I still have pain at the bone marrow location as well as muscle pain in the hip area. I also had shoulder pain, making it difficult to turn my body. Since the pain would not go down I decided to take Dilaudid which helped a bit. I ended up with less pain in exchange with lightheadedness.

Today was a Busy Day. I woke up around 8:30, had breakfast and got ready for our trip to UCSF. Our appointment was for 3:00, but were informed if we got there earlier we may be able to see our doctor before 3:00. It turned out that way, which helped us bet the evening rush hour.

Getting back home, Dianne hook me up for my hydration. There was not much activity as I dozed off a number of times. I tried to overcome that problem, but no ons Being downstairs did not change my temperature and dozing off. I finally went back upstairs to call it a day and fall a sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
