Today was THE day! I am not talking about Thanksgiving, however you all have a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽, enjoying your Thanksgiving dinner.
I am talking about starting my High Dosage of Cytoxan treatment administer over the next four days.
Because of us knowing we would not be together as a family today for our meal, Denise with some help from her mother, preparared a great Thanksgiving dinner, with all the fixings. It was a great dinner with all of us being together having a good time.

Today was a screwed-up day! Things started off with no problem, I got ready for Dianne to pick me up and take me to Shutter Delta MC for my Platelets and Blood Transfusion. Checking in and getting a room was still no problem. The problem started when we found out that they only had orders for the Platelet Transfusion. Since I was having a “Type and Cross” armband it showed them that there should be orders for the Blood Transfusion. After some searching they found the orders.

Today was another so-so day! It was discharge day!
Before being discharged I needed another blood transfer. Since my blood has been subject to various chemo related treatments, it contains antibodies that the blood bank needs to be aware of in selecting the blood for me. I received the blood around 4:00 AM and was done at 7:30 AM. Shortly after that another blood draw was taken to ensure the numbers were good to be discharged.

Today was a good day, a continuation of yesterday. After a slow start, I got downstairs to start the day. BTW, the night was normal, yes – just normal not extremely better than at the hospital as I had expected. However, being home and following the treatment instruction has lifted my spirits and energy. I did two outside walks, measuring my Oxygen Saturation (Sp02). They are on the positive borderline, which is not bad for a patient that was just released the day before.

Good News, I have been released and I am home now. All the tests passed including the walk test (lowest reading 94%). We got the instructions about how to continue the Fungal Treatment at home. Since I have the Rhinovirus (common cold), which got active late yesterday, I got some helpful hints from the Hospitalist to deal with it. As to the Fungus infection, it will be a long road before we can say we have eliminated it.

The day did start with another big bang, right after my 09:00 PM (Day 17), I was overcome by nausea resulting in vomitting. As with my pain attack yesterday I am told that it this is due me starting my Revlimid regiment.
