2018-05-27 Recovery Day 447

Health-wise things have turned around. I still had dizziness after getting up which I got under control with Meclizine. However I played it safe by having toast and tea for breakfast. On the positive side there was no shoulder, hip and bone pain. Dieter, Carsten and my wife joined me for my morning walk at Contra Loma Regional Park. I enjoyed the walk, specially since I was pain free.

2018-05-21 Recovery Day 441

Health-wise I guess having had so many good days, they had to come to an end. It started with a night of very little sleep. I got up about every hour, but could not fall back into a good sleep. Finally getting up at my regular time, 06:30, I had dizziness, back pain and shoulder pain, none reducing over time as normally. Back to my morning routine, I had some toast with Camille tea for starters, followed by my morning medication to get ready for my morning walk with Dean.

2018-05-02 Recovery Day 422 [Updated]

Weather-wise sill the same as the last few days, somewhat warm to cool and very windy. Health-wise it started the same as the last few days, getting up with some dizziness. I started with breakfast before taking my morning medication. I check my vitals which were OK, no change from the norm. After a small rest my dizziness had disappeared and it was time to get ready for Dean to pick me up.

2018-04-18 Recovery Day 408

Another cold day, just like yesterday. Health wise, it was another good day as far as no treatment side effects. However I did have some back pain which I kept under control with some Tylenol. As to getting started this morning, after getting up I checked my vitals, which were fine, followed by breakfast. Afterwards I took my morning medication. Since today is my day off from treatment, I had signup to be the host at Big Break Visitor Center from 9:00 to 12:30. Ed came by at 8:30 to pick me up sine he too had signed up.

2018-04-12 Recovery Day 402

Today was a excellent day. The day started with no stomach issue nor any dizziness. I had a good breakfast before I started to get my walking stuff together. After a short rest and taking my regular morning medication, I needed to figure out what to wear this morning since the temperature was rather low and the forecast did not indicate a rather fast increase.

2018-04-04 Recovery Day 394

Today was another So-so day. Still, like yesterday, after getting up, I had some minor stomach crams. I therefore had again only toast and tea for breakfast. Today is my first Wednesday at which I don’t have Infusion treatment, which I will have next Wednesday. I was therefore able to attend the Docent Delta News and Coffee Talk meeting. Dean picked me up around 8:00 to drop me of Visiting Center (VC)>

2018-04-01 Recovery Day 391

Today was a excellent day. Like yesterday it started with sleeping in and getting up having a good breakfast. Thanks to Alice’s fresh farm eggs we had Eggs Benedict – Thanks Alice! Health-wise there were no issues, it is safe to assume that the immunization shoots did not cause any side effects – Things turned out well!

BTW, I got the lab results for the three proteins (Immunoglobulin IgA, IgG, IgM). The numbers start to look good, especially the IgA which has moved from 932, 1459, 449 to 254 which is in range 81 – 463. You may recall that it was as high as 7500 when the cancer was identified.

2017-10-15 Recovery Day 223

We got up around 7:00 and had breakfast shortly afterwards. A bit after 9 o’clock Dianne and I went to the Big Break Park. We had planned to go yesterday but it was to cold and windy. Today the weather was on our side. It took us about 30 minutes to walk slowly to the fishing pier. Dianne snapped a few photos of me before we started our way back. Instead of going back home at the end of our walk, we entered the Visiting Center to see who of the staff was there. I was in luck that a) that the center was empty of visitors and b) Nicole Gange was there, Dianne and I provided an update about my treatment and what was lying ahead. By the time we got back home it was almost lunch time.
