2017-10-15 Recovery Day 223

We got up around 7:00 and had breakfast shortly afterwards. A bit after 9 o’clock Dianne and I went to the Big Break Park. We had planned to go yesterday but it was to cold and windy. Today the weather was on our side. It took us about 30 minutes to walk slowly to the fishing pier. Dianne snapped a few photos of me before we started our way back. Instead of going back home at the end of our walk, we entered the Visiting Center to see who of the staff was there. I was in luck that a) that the center was empty of visitors and b) Nicole Gange was there, Dianne and I provided an update about my treatment and what was lying ahead. By the time we got back home it was almost lunch time.

2017-08-10 Recovery Day 157

Today’s report is rather short. The morning started with stomach pain that lasted to about 8:00 AM. Which was great since it was the time for our team call. Shortly after the team call the dizziness came back, followed by stomach quizzyness. It ended with me having to vomit and resting afterwards. Not a good start!

Contra Loma Regional Park – Take 5

Day three for using my super wide-angle lens. Due to my time restrictions this week and the fog still hanging around, I took a chance and visited Contra Loma Regional Park, and was a bit in luck with the fog on its way out.

Since purchase of this lens I have had not many opportunities to use it. Now after three days I start seeing the potential for landscape compositions.

At Big Break – Week 5

This week marks the start of using my zoom-lenses for leaning to understand their fields of view as well as comparing it against prime lenses with the same focal length. comparison. The last for weeks have been very useful in understanding what I see with my naked eyes vs that of the camera because of the various focal lengths. The first lens that I will be suing this week is my super-wide angle Tamron SP 10-24mm lens.

Contra Loma Regional Park – Take 4

Had to leave very early today for San Francisco so I rushed out to the Contra Loma Regional Park for the fourth set of photos. The weather today was not a problem, very few clouds. Because of me getting to the park very early this set of photos was taken 15 minutes after the official sunrise.

Black Diamond Mines Regional Park – Take 3

As in week 1 because of the heavy rain, the access road closed because mudslides, the results of the overnight heavy rain. Plan B for day 6 was to take photos of the very colorful sunrise, that was not an option today. That left me with plan C.

Contra Loma Regional Park – Take 3

Finally a break in the weather, so rushed out to the Contra Loma Regional Park for the third set of photos. Weather-wise today was almost the same as on Day 5 with the exception to shoot the same sceneries was again difficult because the trail still is not accessible as it is even muddier than on Day 12 thanks to the additional amount of rain. I am not complaining, we need the rain.
