Today is not only Sunday, but also my last day of chemo. What is left is the last pill of Revlimid. Starting tomorrow, no more chemo, be it BMO or via infusion. Now my system needs to get rid of all the chemo stuff over the next four weeks. The reason being that in four weeks I start the stem cells collection. By having cleaned out most chemo stuff there will be more good stem cells for collection.
Today things turned out very different. For starters, getting up was no different then the last few days. However, getting downstairs things changed, I was not able to fix breakfast due to sudden pain and dizziness showing up. As far as I can make it out, this pain is from the root canal and Physical Therapy. I also started to have a light fever. It was time to go back upstairs and rest. By mid-morning the fever was gone and the pain slowly disappeared. I stayed upstairs until lunch, at which time I went back downstairs.
Getting up this morning I still had some dizziness from yesterday to overcome. However, it did slowly disappear and instead My lower back started to hurt. I slowly moved upstairs into my office getting ready for my 8:00 AM conference call with some of my colleagues. As to my pain, it was not good, first my lower back, and later the shoulder pain. I took my 9:00 Dilaudid at 9:30. Guess what, I got dizzy again. I immediately rested to get the dizziness down and the shoulder pain to slowly drop.
Many of the regular reader may be wondering why the posting for the 19th July is 24 hours late. The reason will become aberrant as I outline what took place.
The day started off fine with a scheduled Skype session with Francois and my daily FaceTime call with Ray. During both of those calls I was overcome by dizziness. I took the medication that I got for it which worked well for a few hours.
Getting up this morning I felt none of the upper leg/buttocks, foot pain and shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pains. By the time I got downstairs and had helped with the breakfast my shoulder-back-shoulder pains were back again. Since I had a 9:00 Physical Therapy session, I rested in my recliner to reduce the pain level.
The Physical Therapy session turned out to be a good one. I got answers to my questions and modifications, alternate way, to two of my exercises. Most of the time was spend applying deep soft tissue mobilization on my shoulder-back-shoulder area to loosen up my muscles. It really works, sadly only for a few hours.
Getting up this morning I feel of the upper leg/buttocks and foot pain, but by the time I got downstairs they showed up just a little bit. As to my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain they were barely notable. Since it is weekday, I help with breakfast, which resulted in an increase of my shoulder-back-shoulder pain. After breakfast I went outside to rest in my Garden Lounge Chair. I had my Skype session with Jurgen and my FT sessions with my uncle Don and Ray, outside from my Lounge Chair. By lunch time the pain were mostly gone. I stayed in after lunch since the temperature started to rise again towards 95 F.
Getting up this morning was no different from the last two days, I still feel a bit of the upper leg/buttocks and foot pain, but by the time I get downstairs they are almost gone. As to my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain they were barely notable. Since it is Sunday, we, Dianne, Denise and I decided to go to the local café for breakfast. Getting back home, I decided to provide Dianne company during her garden work by staying outside in my garden Lounge Chair. Around lunch time it got to about 100F signaling that it was time to go inside.
Like yesterday, I am trying to figure out what to write. The day followed the emerging pattern for the mornings. Getting up I still feel a bit of the upper leg/buttocks and foot pain, but by the time I get downstairs for breakfast they are almost gone. All that was notable present was my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain that stayed that way all day. Being Saturday, Dianne and I got up early to go to the local bakery-café to get breakfast as take out. This was the second time that I went out other then the cancer center or hospital.

Sitting here trying to figure out what to write, has become difficult the last 5 days since a pattern has emerged. The mornings up to lunch have become the same. The afternoons to evenings are a bit different, depending on the weekday. Monday and Tuesday are chemo days, the rest of the week are regular non-chemo days. Two of those days I have PT at the local hospital. Things will changed after this cycle is over, but that is 3 weeks away.
Today turned out to be like yesterday; good. For starters, like yesterday getting up I felt the upper leg/buttocks and foot pain, but by the time I was downstairs for breakfast they were almost gone. All that was notable present was my shoulder-back-shoulder surgery pain. As it turns out it stayed that way all morning, giving me time to to continue catching up with work I was not able to do the last few days. In between I had my FaceTime call with Ray.
