2018-08-14 Recovery Day 526

Another good day with dizziness and my stomach queasiness when first getting up. Taking Zofran and Meclizine got it under control before breakfast. The added Transderm Scop (Scopolamine) patch should start working by tomorrow. Tomorrow is my treatment day, the first within my 4-week cycle, 1 on 3 off. It will be interesting to see how this will affect the good days I had lately.

One side effect I encountered today was that after lunch I was falling asleep unexpectedly and constantly. This happened during the support group meeting, at home during the dinner and writing this posting. It took some energy, especially writing this article, to stay on course.

2018-08-09 Recovery Day 521

Today was a good day with no side effects or pains (the exception being the surgery related shoulder pain). Since I was very active in the morning, I was surprised to learn that I was able to control my pain effectively. I did, however, require lots of rest in the afternoon.

2018-08-06 Recovery Day 518

Yet another good day with no side effects or bone pains, with the exception of my surgery related shoulder pain. I hope as time goes on that that issue goes away, if not it is something to work on to figure out. Talking about heath, the air was rather full of smog from the nearby wildfires, lucky for us it was at a high level not affecting our breathing.

2018-08-03 Recovery Day 515

Healthwise another good day with no apparent side effect or pains during my walk. This is day two since taking Pomalyst, the chemo pill, which in the past was the day when side effects showed up. The only pain I encountered today was my shoulder pain because of the household activities I did in the afternoon.

2018-07-29 Recovery Day 510

Today was another good day. Sleeping was better then the night before. I slept in until 7:00, by the time I got downstairs breakfast was ready. As to my pains, I had some in my left hip during my morning walk. The other pain, showing up for the first time, is in my right lower shoulder blade which feels like a number of needles. It shows up when I move my shoulder and upper body. No other pain showed up today.

2018-06-13 Recovery Day 464

For starters today was a bad day. Getting up there were no signs of dizziness or nausea. The pain level in my shoulder was at normal level. After breakfast and taking my medication I started my morning walk earlier because of the heat. Since it is Wednesday I walk alone. After returning home I rested a bit, but within an hour my left shoulder started to hurt.

2018-05-30 Recovery Day 450

Health-wise things did not improved. Still having dizziness when getting up which I control with Meclizine which helped. I had my Breakfast and morning medication about 30-45 minutes later. My shoulder was at a higher level then the last past day, which I lowered with some Tylenol. I had no hip nor no bone pain at all, which was good. However, around mid-afternoon I had some light spasms in my left shoulder.

2018-05-23 Recovery Day 443

Health-wise things were not good, it started of with a good night sleep, no dizziness and good vitals. Breakfast was fine as well as my morning medication. Since it was the second Wednesday since my last treatment, today was all-day treatment day again. Dean dropped me of at the treatment center. So far, so good. After checking my vitals, taking some blood and connecting the IV to my port the show got on the road with the pre-meds followed with the Zometa infusion. Still things were good.
