2018-08-17 Recovery Day 529

Today another good, but busy day. Still, the day started with dizziness and stomach queasiness after getting up. See earlier posts starting with posting 2018-08-10 Recovery Day 522 for details. As to the Transderm Scop (Scopolamine) patch, the verdict is still not out if it works or not. I will keep using it until 21 August, the end of this cycle, to see if the patch is working.

2018-08-11 Recovery Day 523

Today was another good day with no unexpected complication. Being the weekend we did not get up too early. Dianne prepared my weekend breakfast, tomato, avocado and turkey bacon on toasted multigrain bread. Since Dieter, Carsten and Renee were here for a visit and it was Dieter’s Birthday, Dianne prepared for Dieter and Carsten theirs on homemade waffles instead of toast. Renee went for breakfast with her father. After breakfast, Dianne and Carsten joined me for my morning walk.

2018-08-10 Recovery Day 522

Today was a good day with somewhat unexpected complication at the start of the day. For most of the day, there were no side effects or pains (the exception being the surgery related shoulder pain). As to the complication, today was what we call “Patch Day“. In the morning Dianne changes my Fentanyl patches which is my baseline pain control. The patch is a transdermal system delivering 100 mcg/hr for 72 hrs. I use two patches for 200 mcg. This morning after changing the patches, I suddenly got very dizzy and my stomach got queasy. I took immediately Zofran and Meclizine which got it under control. By the time I was ready for my walk, everything was back to normal.

2018-07-25 Recovery Day 506

Today was another so-so day. It is maybe because of the high outside temperature. The diarrhea is still there, maybe not as much, but mostly after eating something. Sleeping was OK until I had to get up, the diarrhea started up again. As to the day itself, I only had to go three times, more then yesterday. I was sure the day would get better. However, as the rest of the day moved along my energy level dropped more and more.

2018-07-22 Recovery Day 503

Today was another bad day. The diarrhea continued to keep me up all night and continued through the day. I was able to have the BRAT breakfast and lunch. Since I stayed at home today, I decided to take PHOTOS of things in our backyard, such as the many garden nick-nacks we have. Slowly during the afternoon my discomfort improved a bit, but not enough that one can call it is over.

2018-07-04 Recovery Day 485

Today was another good day, which again started with a good sleep. Like yesterday I got up early around 7:00 and had a good breakfast Dianne had made. Health wise no complaints, no stomach problems and no bone pains, only a little bit shoulder discomfort.

2018-06-26 Recovery Day 477

Today was a better day, I controlled my stomach aches with taken ZoFran. After a light breakfast and my morning medication I decided to go for my morning walk with Dean. My only other health related issue is the pain/discomfort with my shoulder blades and hips. Like before I take some Tylenol which by the time my walk is over has the pain under control. Since the last few days this seemed no longer to work as good.

2018-06-04 Recovery Day 455

The day started of fine with no issues, no signs of dizziness or nausea in the morning. After breakfast and morning medication I went with Dean to the new eBART station checking it out before driving down to the Marina for our morning walk with Dean. We got back home just in time for lunch. Because it was hot outside I stayed inside. Shortly after lunch I noticed some stomach problems, so I rested. The stomach problem continued for the rest of the day.

2018-06-03 Recovery Day 454

Another short posting for an excellent day. Looks like we continued where we left of yesterday. Health-wise again no issues, no signs of dizziness or nausea this morning. I had breakfast and morning medication early right after getting up since the forecast called for a +99F day. We had our morning walk an hour earlier to beat the heat. We did enjoyed the earlier walk. Returning home, there were no signs of any pain levels having increased or new one surfaced.

2018-06-01 Recovery Day 452

Health-wise things are stable, no signs of dizziness or nausea this morning. Same morning routine, Breakfast and morning medication about 30-45 minutes later. As to my shoulder and hips the pain levels were at a normal level which was good. However, around mid-afternoon I had some light dizziness or nausea until I move around a bit more.
