Apple News: Samsung faces sanctions over latest dirty trick in Apple case
In advance of last year’s big patent infringement trial that resulted in a billion dollar judgement against Samsung – not a penny of which has yet been paid – Samsung’s attorneys demanded that Apple turn over the contents of its patent licensing agreements with Nokia and three other manufacturers, Ericsson, Sharp, and Philips. Apple complied, as it is legally required to do, marking the exhibits “Highly Confidential – Attorney Eyes’ Only” and trusting that the court’s protective order – and the threat of sanctions – would keep the highly sensitive information out of the hands of Samsung’s executive team. Technology News: Visa improves electronic fraud detection technology
Visa has improved its Advanced Authorization (VAA) technology to improve the firm’s ability to detect potential electronic payments fraud. On Thursday, the firm said that Visa transactions will now be more secure for both retailers and consumers, according to a press release. The global payment processor’s Advanced Authorization (VAA) technology is used to track, accept and deny payments from cards, whether physically present or used online.

I got this in my email this week: “I want to start a photography business but I don’t have a camera. What camera should I buy?
Face. Palm. sigh
Guys, how has it come to this? I’ve literally felt so sad since receiving this question. Why, oh, why does photography look like a cash cow to people? Since when has this art become so very disguised as something else? And don’t you dare tell me it’s because DSLRs are more readily available than ever before. Because so are computers. I have two and I’m not thinking about becoming a programmer.
