I had planned to contine my daily “In the News” posting during my vacation in Germany, but thanks to all of my luggage being delayed, I was not able to do so. Actually our trip, my wife is with me, did not get off at all to a great start. Originally our flight was from SFO to NY/Newark to Berlin. We ended up going from Newark to Madrid first, before going to Berlin. The reason was that air traffic control delayed our take-off by 3 hours, for all flights from the west coast to the east coast. Because of the delay we missed the flight to Berlin, and all that was available was to go via Madrid.

In addition to the delay getting into Berlin, was the bad news of NO luggage. Further, because it is Sunday today, they would not send the luggage, that they found, to Braunschweig until Monday night via DHL. It finally arrived today, Tuesday. It was not much fun without a change of cloth and most importantly chargers for my laptop

The only good news was the car rental, Hertz, they had the car at the rental place door, ready for us to leave for Braunschweig in the rain.

Because my laptop and iPad were dead with no chargers to bring them back to life, I was unable to do my daily blogging. Having enjoyed the last few days without computers, I decided to take also a vacation from blogging during our stay in Germany. I will be back online starting Monday, 26 October.
