2018-05-17 Recovery Day 437

Health-wise nothing new, it seems we have reached a stable point in my treatment; good night sleep, getting up with no dizziness and good vitals. All this allows me to have a good breakfast and taking my morning medication. Between finishing breakfast and starting my morning walk with Dean, I processed my mail and sorted out some of my files in preparation for a switch in my cloud storage provider. Today’s walk took about 1 hour, without any increase in back tightness and no pain.

2018-05-03 Recovery Day 423

Before I start with my entry for today, a note about yesterday’s entry. I have added an UPDATE to it since shortly after posting the entry during dinner things changed habit that will be mention in this post. If you have read yesterday’s post, please return to read the added update.

Weather-wise we are still in the same weather pattern as the last week, somewhat warm to cool and very windy. Health-wise it started the same as the last few days, getting up with some dizziness. I started with breakfast before taking my morning medication. I check my vitals which were OK, no change from the norm. After a small rest my dizziness had disappeared and it was time to get ready for my morning walk with Dean.

2018-04-22 Recovery Day 412

Another fine warm day. Health wise, my blood pressure was back to what it has been since starting the second round of treatment. No change in my morning routine, starting with a good breakfast, taking afterwards my morning medication and getting ready for my morning walk. Today, being Sunday, the walk was a family affair.

2017-10-14 Recovery Day 222

Being Saturday we got up around 7:00 and had breakfast shortly afterwards. Afterwards I rested a bit before going to the Big Break Park for a longer walk. However, before doing so I received a call from Mario Paoli, a German class mate. Last time I spoke to Mario must have been in 2014, if not later. Mario was concerned if I was near the fire and smoke, since the German News was not very exact in reporting the exact location. After I informed Mario about the location of the fire and my house, we chatted a bit more. I found out that Mario did not know about my illness, which was a surprise to me because he was at our 50 year class reunion a few weeks ago where some other class mates were that knew about it. I updated Mario and we will agreed to keep in touch by using FaceTime.

2017-10-01 Recovery Day 209

Another good day with little to write about. There is nothing better then sleeping in your own bed which was great for me as there was no pain. Waking up I had a small issue as it seemed that I had the morning issue with dizziness again. It turned out to be nothing. I played it a bit safe by having a cold cereal for breakfast. Afterwards I wend for my morning walk. The rest of the morning I spend sorting things out that got a bit mixed up during my three weeks away.

2017-09-29 Recovery Day 207

Today was another good day, including the night with its back pain that required medication every 3 hours. My CDC numbers stayed in range supporting the planned the discharge for Saturday. As to the back pain, the good news, as confirmed by yesterday’s X-Rays, no damage to the work done by the surgery. The bad news, the T12 was compressed a bit more causing the pain. I am sure that the surgeon will address that when I see him on the 13th October.

2017-08-16 Recovery Day 163

If you have not read yesterday’s posting, please do, otherwise you may not understand what I am about to report.

Before I update you about the additional Cyclophosphamide, also called Cytoxan infusion I am going to receive, let me update you about my pain.

Today was another good day, just like yesterday, because the only pain I had was the shoulder-back-shoulder pain which came in various pain levels. I also had no the morning sickness (dizziness and quizziness).

2017-08-15 Recovery Day 162

Today was a good day because the only pain I had was the shoulder-back-shoulder pain which came in various pain levels. I also had no the morning sickness (dizziness and quizziness). However, we did have a eventful day since we had a appointment with UCSF in San Francisco. The appointment was to tell as the details about our upcoming Stem Cell collection and transplant. However, as we found out there was much more to it.

2017-08-13 Recovery Day 160

Today was the day, the best day of my recovery. Hardly any signs of morning sickness (dizziness and quizziness), just some shoulder-back-shoulder pain when I do to much. The day started of with a good breakfast and a 20 minute walk afterwards along the front of our house. After that I spend a few hours resting in the backyard. The rest of the morning I spend in my office sorting to a pile of paper work. Looking at the pile, it does not look like I made any progress in my task, but I know I did. Not to over do it, I quit at lunch time.

2017-08-11 Recovery Day 158

Today’s morning was almost the same as yesterday’s. The morning started with stomach pain that lasted to about 8:00 AM. Shortly after the stomach pain was gone, dizziness showed up for about an hour, followed by stomach quizzyness. It ended around 10:30 AM. Not the start I had be hoping for.
